  • Honey intake is also helpful. You can have honey with your breakfast, may be over a toast or top up your fruits with the sweet goodness. The potassium in honey helps fight the toxins and metabolize the excessive alcohol in the body.
  • Tomatoes in the form of juice or as a soup also provides relief for easing the hangover symptoms.
  • Citrus fruits like lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruit if consumed as a whole or as juice would not only neutralise the effect of alcohol buy also hydrate your body. Aim to consume whole fruits, rather than a lot of fruit juice, as its high sugar content can to other problems.

Increase your water intake

Alcohol is a diuretic and it prevents the release of ADH (Antidiuretic Hormone) that causes water reabsorption i.e. without this hormone your kidneys are unable to absorb water and instead, excrete urine.. In simple words, it means that alcohol causes you to urinate more frequently thus stripping your body of key electrolytes. Such a condition inflates the symptoms of hangover. Thus you need to up your water intake. Add some lemon juice in case your find the plain water bland. If you make the water fizzy, then it would speed up the breakdown of alcohol in the gut, shortening the duration of a hangover. Thus water is considered as one of the best solutions to tackle symptoms of hangover like headache and dehydration.

Sleep through it

While alcohol is known to help certain people fall asleep faster, too much of it can instead interfere with sleep, leaving you more tired than ever upon waking up. Getting a good night’s sleep is crucial to letting your body recover from a night of partying. Try to sleep as much as you can and make sure you get your requisite seven to nine hours of shuteye the night after.
